NYE Parties?

Hi MPRs,

If any of you are playing NYE parties, LET ME KNOW VIA E-MAIL or COMMENT BELOW. I will post all the member parties here for all to see.

PEOPLE BROTHERS are hosting a party at COME BACK INN in Madison WI. $50 for all you can eat and drink all night. Just FYI.

Totally unrelated, I am subjecting myself to an Atkins type low carb diet for 30 days, just to see what happens. I'm measuring my weight and taking notes. I am even going to get my cholesterol checked a couple times if insurance will cover it.

About This Site (or "About Last Night...")

This site is for the social group of performing musicians in Madison.

See, I had this idea.

Like many musicians in Madison, I got tired of performing in unsupportive venues for small audiences of disinterested people.

Rather than bitch about it, I decided to take a proactive approach and do something about it.

Wouldn't it be great if you could have an audience of happy, attentive, and appreciative fans who dance and have a great time?

That is what this social group is all about. We are Madison musicians who, when we don't have a gig ourselves, go out to shows of other members of the group and PARTY LIKE ROCK STARS, because we are rock stars (at least in our minds...).

Musicians are the perfect audience members. We understand how hard the musicians on stage have worked, not only to create the music but to book the show and set up the gear and stay up late. And we show that understanding by supporting their efforts.

We also know what musicians expect of an audience, so we can be the audience that cheers after every song, toasts the band, dances, and generally carries on. Even in small numbers, this social group can give a local Madison band a great showing of support that will impress the staff of even the most lackluster of Madison venues.

The morale boost will probably even make you ROCK HARDER! You know how great it feels when your audience is really having fun and paying attention. Are you a Madison musician who would like to both support other musicians and get more support for you live shows?
